Courtesy of our club sponsor this season Broad Oak Tree Consultants Ltd, all Broad & Horam JFC players who are wearing their club shirt will gain FREE entry into the Ryman Premier League fixture between Hastings United and AFC Hornchurch – anticipated to be one of the largest attendances of the season for the club with over 700 people likely to be going. Adults including club coaches and committee members will need to pay the £9, and Managers - please help to represent the club by wearing any club clothing you have. Finally, don't forget to buy a programme on the day, which will include plenty of content including an article about BOHJFC!
Hastings United managed to stay up last season, having been promoted to the Rymans Premier League the year before. In an extremely competitive league, they are currently 10th in the table – with Hornchurch only two places behind, so this should be a very even game. The quality of football is good, the atmosphere should be excellent, and to cap it all our club will be taking a very active part in all proceedings throughout the afternoon, for the third year running. We continue to receive excellent feedback from the Hastings Utd Chairman, senior stewards and officials each season – and so we have been invited back as good friends of the club. No other Junior football club gets this sort of package, and what I have done is to try and involve as many different age groups as possible, whilst remembering that many of our age groups have had their turns on previous occasions. Next year we hope to be invited again with different age groups involved, but for this year our exciting package includes the following:
● FREE entry to the match for all Broad Oak JFC players – (you MUST wear your shirt to get in, and then either club tracksuit top or rainjacket depending on the weather) ALL Adults - £9
● Girls squads & Under 7's to be the Matchday mascots – 22 of them coming down the tunnel with each player!
● Combined Club Photo-shoot on the pitch for all Broad Oak JFC players and club coaches -
Combined with both Hastings Utd and AFC Hornchurch squads, so bring your cameras!
● A Half-time match is arranged – this year it’s a battle between Broad Oak U9's v's Hastings Utd U9's. Both our current U8’s and U12’s have previously drawn and won respectively, so fingers crossed we remain unbeaten this season!
● The chance to be one of 10 'Broad Oak' Ball Boys/girls for the match!
(Ages U10's upwards only – so please ring me if you want to grab a place, as these go fast)
● Broad Oak Coaches and Committee members to be allowed entry into the Boardroom after the match to enjoy some food & drink (so SMART attire if you are committee members or coaches want to change, as they have a dress code), and everyone from BOJFC (incl kids) can stay behind to meet the players, grab autographs and witness the presentation of the Rymans Man of the Match Award by our sponsor, Broad Oak Tree Consultants
Pretty 'cool' eh? Your Times are:
By 2.30 pm : Be seated with the rest of the ‘Broad Oak support’ in the main stand at the Hastings Utd Ground, the Pilot Field, Elphinstone Road, Hastings.
(Directions - Drive through Battle High St and continue for 3 miles until you reach Beauport Park Hotel & Golf Course. Turn left at the roundabout and continue along the ridge for another couple of miles until you reach the cemetry on your left – then immediately turn right into Elphinstone Rd. Half way down the hill is the Pilot Field on your left – park up where you can in the surrounding roads.)
4.45 pm: Full Time - children who need picking up will be ready for collection outside the ground with me (please let me know if this is required) or alternatively they may wish to stay behind in the nearby clubhouse to watch the presentation of our choice of 'Man of the Match' and meet some of the players. There were plenty of 'Broad Oak' autograph hunters last year!
Many thanks, enjoy the afternoon, and any questions then let us know! Tim & Sheena Brown Tel: 01435 864262
