20 November 08 - 14:07Beside the seaside, well, er . . . . Sainsbury's
Here is the News:
FanQ's - Firstly a big thank you to Sheena for taking training last week and to Shaun, Gary and Norman's continued support. Also a belated BIG big thank you for all those who helped out in the Club shop on the 1st November (Sue, Ali, Alice's Mum, Charlie, Justine, Allison & Lindsey). Fantastic !
Training this Saturday (22nd Nov) - The Under 8's have our pitch again this week. So bearing in mind the sogginess of Horam grass, we're trying something new. We're going to try out the all-weather astro pitch in Eastbourne! Yep, I know it seems a long way but its a good straight run which should only take about 20 minutes. So please come along and give it a go. It's a provisional one week experiment, so any feedback would be welcome.
Eastbourne Sports Park (10:00-11:30hrs, BN21 2UF) which isn't far from Sainsbury's and the 10Pin bowling at the David Lloyd Centre. It can sometimes be quite windy & chilly, so all wrap warm and players please wear trainers (no studs please) or astro boots (if you have them), shin pads and trackie trousers (as the sand and astro combo could abrade & graze) and bring fluids. The Club does require a nominal £1 per child to help meet the booking fee. The Under 10's will also be down there at the same time. Head past reception and the fenced pitch is outside behind the bubble dome. Please note that there are limited refreshments available - hot & cold drinks, choc & crisps from a machine in reception. http://www.eastbourne.gov.uk/leisure/sport/council/sports-park/get-there/
Club Quiz - One for your diary. Saturday 17th Jan 09 @ BroadOak Village Hall. Come along and do battle with our own "Anne Robinson". It was great fun last year. Click here for more info > > > > >
.
See you Saturday and thanks to all M&D's for encouraging the squad every week.

13 November 08 - 22:46Battle for Hastings - 1511
Hi Guys & Gals,
Hastings Utd v Hornchurch - this Saturday 15th November @ 15:00hrs
This is a last minute rallying call for our Broad Oak invasion of The Pilot Field ground in Hastings. Arrangements are all in place for Saturday's club trip to Hastings, for the Ryman Premier League game, Hastings Utd v Hornchurch.
As previously advised, just before kickoff (3 o’clock), our age group have been asked to do mascot duty. Under 7’s (in full BO kit and boots/trainers) will be coming out with the players at the start of the game. The mascots walk down the tunnel and out onto the pitch with a music intro in front of approx 700 cheering supporters - with a possible warm up with the players for a couple of minutes. They will then join the rest of the Broad Oak players and coaches by the side of the pitch for a photo with both squads. An amazing experience that previous squads we've selected have thoroughly enjoyed!
To get in free and be a Mascot, please wear our Club team strip. As we do not have any socks at present (we have ordered them), please do your best to match socks with the blue of the strip. Naturally, they can turn up wearing warm waterproof clothing over the top to begin with. You will need to be at the stadium by 2.30pm to be included. Adults £9 entry fee.
Unfortunately, I cannot go (attending FA training) but please feel free to go, as the Club are desperate to put on a good representation. If you fancy going, please let Tim Brown know as soon as possible (see contacts page).
Remember, weather permitting, Sheena Brown will be taking training this Saturday (10:00-11:30). Sheena may take a show of hands on Saturday training to see how many are going down to Hastings.
Have fun at the training, wear appropriate clothing for the weather (including shin pads and boots) and trophy winners - please remember to bring them back this Saturday.
Thanks for your support.
Regards, David
