Hi all,
Training this Wednesday, Tower Rec 6 - 7.30pm
Managers VS Under 15s Match, Friday 18th May 7pm Kick off, Tower Rec
Steve -
Broad Oak played a friendly against Seaford Town girls who are in the league above!
The girls arrived at Tower Rec at 9.45am, they got changed into their training kits and went and warmed up, without any input from myself! They had their football heads on and they were pumped and ready for the fixture ahead. 10 minutes to go until ko the girls went back into the changing rooms, and put their match tops on, and Charlie Moderski lead the team out onto the field.
The girls fought hard and played well throughout, going 1-0 up very early on with a goal from Lizzie Coleman's head! Seaford continued to battle and equalized. Seaford then went 1-2 up, but Broad Oak didn't put their heads down, and they got a goal back, this time Nicole Baitup getting her name on the score sheet! 2-2. Later on in the first half, Broak oak conceeded a penatly, which Seaford neatly put away. 2-3.
Half Time.
Second half, the girls were determined and pleased with their first performance, both teams were evenly matched and battled very hard, with end to end stuff happening. Seaford had many chances, and about 5 corners in a row! But the defence kept them out. Elleah's kicking was great, there was a high wind but she read it and kicked accordingly. Her drop kicks were going over Seaford's back 4 and setting up many chances. Broad Oak on the attack and with good interplay Bell pushed forward and scored. 3-3. With more chances from both sides the game was very equal, and even though the rain came down on us, the girls played very well and many parents commented on how well they played.
Broad Oak thank Megan and Bell for coming to play for us today, and it would be good to sign you on for next season!
Well done girls, see you training Wednesday!

Today's fixture was in Brighton so we travelled down to Mile Oak Recreation Ground.
HANGLETON 4 BROAD OAK 2
As we arrived we were allocated the county league pitch, which was fully sized and the girls needed a high work rate to fill it.
Referee was Daniel Jeffery, who was just coming to watch but as they didn't have a referee thought he'd step in. So thank you Dan. The linesman or woman in this case was myself.
As we kicked off the girls were looking strong, and confident, using the ball well and getting up to the strikers. Our defence were playing a good back line, and allowing myself to make many offside decisions as lots of Hangleton players were left offside. Although starting strong Hangleton saw the gap in the middle of the park and played the ball through to their strikers; who this time were onside. With Charlie and Carlie pushing back to try and catch up, a Hangleton player slotted the ball past Elleah. 1-0.
Keeping our heads high the girls proceeded to make chances and worked well, showing some good passing moves. The communication of the girls was much better today and they worked amazingly as a team. We had many shots on target but not able to find the back of the net just yet. Hangleton again saw the gap and pushed the ball through, and again the attacking player timed her run well, and scored again. 2-0. The girls still kept battling and I saw many wonderful smilles on their faces. Another slightly tacky goal from Hangleton, made the score 3-0. Unfortunate for the girls.
After a strong half time talk from Steve the girls looked confident in the second half. The ball was played very well up the wings for Jazz and Jemma. A good pass through to Nicole, and she slotted the ball in the net, a lovely goal for Broad Oak! After battling again for another 20 minutes the girls were 3-1 down and looking strong. The game was very tough and there was good ball winning from both teams. Our defence again kept a good back line for more work for me to give the offsides. Hangleton thretened our goal a few times, and after saves from Elleah corners were forced. The girls defended very well from the corners and there was very good talking going on to ensure they were marking properly. (This = a very happy Becky!) Unfortunately Hangleton did score again to make the score 4-1 but the girls kept strong and another good ball through to Nicole, where she tried to shoot, but ended up passing it to Sophie, who passed it back to Nicole who powered it in the goal. 4-2. More efforts from both teams, and all 22 girls on the pitch worked their socks off. FULL TIME: 4-2.
4-2 is a very flattering score for Hangleton, as i'm sure they'd agree that today was a very tough game. Broad Oak played exceptionally well and I couldn't be more proud. I asked the girls to enjoy today, and I believe they did so, I also asked for 100% out of them, if I could get that, I can't complain.. And they did, every single player put 110% in!
Girl of the match was Charlie Moderski, for being a solid CB today and getting back when she needed too. She fought well and she deserved girl of the match. Well done Charlie.
Thank you girls for today, yet again you've made me proud.
See you at training!

Yet another fantastic performance today, a lovely 9-1 win against Eastbourne Town Girls.
A short but sweet speech today!
First of all, a massive well done to Jazz and Monet who played very well on their debut's for the all mighty Broad Oak girls!
Next up, for what Elleah had to do, she did very well! Saved all the 1 - on - 1a and got girl of the game.
Goal Scorers - Lizzie 3, Nicole 4, Jemma 1, and Emily B 1.
An all round good performance today, hope you all enjoyed it! This was our last game this year so all have a very merry christmas and a Happy new year!
Next game back is 15th January and is our Cup game against Southdown, so keep up the good work over your holidays and when training is on again please turn up!
Once again, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

The girls played away this morning to Newhaven on a very windy, ( I mean VERY windy) pitch!
Steve left this one to me this week and I have to say I enjoyed every minute of it. All the players played outstandingly and I can't fault your performance at all. You all listened to everything I said and you managed to prove to everyone how good you are, by winning 8-1! Yes, 8 goals for our girls!
Now I need to remember who scored..
LIZZIE 3
NICOLE 2
SOPHIE WATES 1
JEMMA BRUNT 1
(and a own goal)
But, its not all about the goal scorers, the only way they can score is if they can get the ball too them, and thats what made our team so good today. You passed that ball around and looked like a TEAM! We started with a 4-4-2 formation but after being 4 -0 up at half time I made it a 4 - 3 - 4 to get them goals in! Newhaven had some good spells but fantastic defensive work and the Elleah saving it with her nose kept us in it!
Emily Maguire played fantasticly, the passing, the crossing, the confidence, the smile.. everything was perfect! Well done Emz!
If you play like that weekly you can easily be top of this league, you girls have done us all proud once again! Your good at doing that! Keep it up girlies!
Training at HCC tomorrow (Monday 28th) 6pm. I won't be there as i'm watching the amazing top of the league Charlton against 2nd place Huddersfield! Should be a good game, its on Sky Sports 1 7.45pm kick off!
Also, my team Maresfield won 7 -1 (just thought i'd add that bit in!)
So a great day for football this weekend!
Thanks to parents who traveled with us and faced the wind nearly making them fly and Martin for doing the line!
Bring on next week girls!

BAWKS YOUTH GIRLS VS BROAD OAK AND HORAM GIRLS.
1 3
Girls, another great performance from you all I hear. Steve has told me how proud he is of every single one of you and you have yet again proved yourselves. Other teams now see you as a threat, which is great! You un-nerve the opposition which is exactly what we need! I just wish I could see you every week, because you girls have made us so proud of you, we look forward to Sundays and can't wait for you to go out and do what you do best! Sunday 20th November the girls traveled to play Hawks Youth who were top of the league, I asked the girls the week before to do what they do best.. and I believe that's what they done!
Hatrick hero this week with Nicole getting the 3 goals for Broad Oak, and yet another solid performance from keaper Elleah and the back four; Gabi, Charlie, Carlie and Millie.
Broad oak started perfectly and managed a 3-0 lead at half time, couldn't have asked for more from them! In the second half they conceded a consolation goal and didn't score but never the less a fantastic result pushing Hawks Youth back down to second and us now third with 2 games in hand!
Well done to Millie for the girl of the game!
Hope everyone enjoyed the game and you need to remember that Steve and myself when i'm there do have loud voices, on the reason that we are telling you things to improve your game play and positioning off the ball as well as on it.
What happens on the pitch will stay on the pitch and is only said in the heat of the game, once the final whistle goes there will be no more shouting and there are never any hard feelings. Nothing said is offensive it's all in our good will to help you girls improve. I hope no one takes us being loud personally, and if anyone does have a problem please phone me and I will happily explain our reasons behind it, as i've said it is only to help the girls improve. Another thing whilst i'm going on about it, us coaches and manager are the ones you should be listening too, i hope no one gets confused by parents shouting too. If we ask you to do something, that is what we would like to you do. Of course parents can encourage from the side lines, no problem about that.. But when it comes to the football and positioning etc please do listen to us.
Sorry about the boring bits! But a big congrats to you all for today! Amazing!
Training Monday 21st 6pm Sharp.

Well done girls, a lovely 3 - 0 victory over Predators.
After a shaky start from the girls, they managed to sort it out in the second half and scored 3 against a tough Predators side. The girls started well, but then as the first half went on they started to loose their minds a bit and the football was a bit scrappy. They managed to keep Predators from scoring but didn't make it easy for themselves by treading on eachothers feet and just not passing the ball. Nicole had a goal disallowed by the offside flag and after that all the girls had their heads down. 0 - 0 as the half time whistle went and the girls came over, I had to tell them how it looked. I knew the girls could do a lot better than that first half performance and I asked them to make me as a proud as I usually am. And with no surprise of course they did, they listened and realized that they can easily beat their opposition they just need to put their minds too and it be a team again. They failed to disappoint me and Lizzie got the first goal, followed by Nicole and Emily Bigwood near the end of the game. Defense started getting used to where eachother were and getting in to a nice back 4 which Charlie occasionally pushing up. They were all solid at the back and Carlie one of our CB got girl of the game today. The girls worked well as a team and they were back to their old selves again.
A big thank you girls for listening and showing us who you really are! In the end, a well deserved win!
Start how you finished today, and you'll be fantastic!

Saturday was a great success with not only a great atmosphere with an attendance of 17 and a half thousand, Charlton put out an outstanding performance to win 5-2!
4-0 up at half time! Preston were no where!
All the girls behaved themselves perfectly (and the parents too!) and they loved it. I have to say, most girls preferred watching the fit players warm up and touching Dale Stephens' hand than the actual football! CHEEKY!
However, the girls must have seen how AMAZING the mighty Charlton played and decided they'd do the same on Sunday!
Last week the girls were beaten by Hangleton Rangers 4-0, and Yesterday they were to play them again!
The girls were determined to beat them, and push their way up the table! Well, they did it! They were nearly the same as Charlton but the final score was 4 -2 to BOJFC, although a source told me that Jordan Baitup was chanting " We want 5!" and "come on you can be like Charlton!" Or something along them lines!
Like per usual the girls put their heart into the game and every single girl on the Broad Oak side played amazingly. I shouldn't have to say how proud I am of you, because you all know it now!
This week Emily Bigwood found herself on the score sheet, along with Lizzie getting 2 and Nicole with one more. And birthday girl Laura King-Cox got girl of the match.
Girls, each and everyone one of you are doing us so proud. Keep it up!
Oh and yes, we will be going to watch another match don't you worry about that!
Thanks to all who came for making it as good as it was. Parents were very good and kids behaved.
Thanks Muchly!

Amigo's! I'm back from Mexico and just can't wait until Saturday!
A few important things you must know before relaxing and enjoying the game!
Please be at Mill road carpark by half 11.00AM, as we will be loading the coach at 11.45AM.
All Broad Oak Girl players must wear their training kit, a nice thick warm jumper, with the blue Pura Bathrooms rain jacket as the outer layer, so I know who i'm looking for.
Any parents, family members and friends can wear whatever, please bare in mind it is supposed to rain all day Saturday YEY!
PLEASE NOTE: ANY PEOPLE WEARING AWAY TEAM SHIRTS OR OTHER FOOTBALL SHIRTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE HOME STANDS!! (Which is where we will be.)
Please bring a packed lunch or money for food and drinks, snacks on the coach is much appreciated, my favourite are Malteasers so i'll be expecting lots of them!! There is a burger van and places in the stadium but they will be expensive for what they are! Burger van is reasonable price but inside is a lot! There is also a Merchandise shop if anyone wishes to buy anything. (This will be our meeting point if anyone gets lost!! Not that they will if you all behave!) I will explain when the most suitable time to go to the shop and get food once i've been given the microphone on the coach! ;)
Each adult will be looking after their own children, as well as some adults will have to be allocated children who haven't got parents going with them. Again this will be sorted on the way there!
I think thats it, just remember to bring a bottle of water as your throats will be sore from singing too much!! And that's just on the way there on the coach!!
Enjoy yourselves! See you Saturday morning!
No. 1 charlton fan :D

A great performance from the girls on Sunday, you all did everything Steve asked of you and we can't thank you enough. 3 games unbeaten, lets keep it up girls! I hope you are all starting to notice how playing as a team, moving the ball, having fun and communicating is helping you win games. The team spirit is flying high at the moment, and I always see you girls smiling, for me, that makes my day whatever the score!
Remember girls, keep smiling, keep enjoying, and keep doing what your doing now, BEING THE BEST!
