10 January 12 - 23:23Saturday 14th Jan - away at Brighton & HA
14th Jan 2012 - Brighton v's Bristol City: No Saturday training.
Dear all, We hope everyone is looking forward to the Brighton game on Saturday. The coach has been booked with Rambler coaches and we will be leaving from Heathfield Fire Station but please note we will be dropped off at the main bus stop in the High Street. Times and details below:
· No Crystal Palace shirts (Terry/Ewan)
· Please wear warm clothes and Broad Oak training jackets.
· Please be at Mill Road car park (behind fire station) at 11.45am.
· Sweets will be provided for the journey but a packed lunch would be a good idea.·
There will be an opportunity to buy a burger and visit the club shop but children will obviously need some spending money. If you want us to look after any money for your children please place in a plastic money bag or envelope with a note of how much is included. As mentioned above we will be dropped off in the high street and we expect to get there at approximately 6.15pm. If there are any major delays we will text to give revised ETA.
I think that is it but if you do have any questions please email Martin (martin1coleman@aol.com) or give him a call on 07855 805309
It’s going to be a great day out and hopefully it will also be a good learning experience for all our players as we approach 11-a-side next season. Some of us may not have been to a top flight football stadia before and as you walk up and over the steps to find your seat for the first time and see the vast expanse of a bright green pitch, the stands and seats and hear the noise – it’s an atmosphere to savour and hopefully, cherish. Watching football on telly is great, dry and warm but we will be seeing the whole pitch, not just a small window of play and we’ll be able to sample the matchday atmosphere. We will hear the players call for the ball, direct their teamates, hear the thud of the ball being struck and hopefully the rasp of the ball sliding down inside of the net.
As we sit watch and interact with the day, think about what you are watching: the shapes of the teams, how they move together, how they react from an attacking position back into a defensive role. How they pass the ball and how they run off the ball and anticipate the play. Does the ball always have to go forward to retain possession and keep the play going? Also, notice how the keeper distributes the ball – how is he doing it, does he always kick it straight down the middle? If there are goals or players make mistakes, how could things have been done differently? What would you have done?
Players to watch out for on the day:
Brighton & HA: Craig Mackail-Smith (Striker)
Bristol City: David James (ex-England goalkeeper)
Tip of the day: If you have enough money, buy a programme and tick off the starting 11 as they announce the teams over the tanoy – or print off the attached and bring it and pen with you. > > > >

Hi All.
League Matches: are now concluded. Well done to everyone. We now enter the Tournament Season which finishes and brings our Under9's Season to a close on the 18th June. We may have a possible U9's funday the following week on Saturday 26th June. Click here for newsletter and lots of dates and fun stuff > > > (almost complete)
Please find details below of the team selection for the first Tournament at Crowborough this Sunday (15th May). Please familiarise yourself with the teamsheet for a heads up on who's playing. For rotation and fairness of pitch time, not all players will play all tournaments they have put in for - but we will do our best.
Team names: Spitfires, Tornadoes and Typhoons have now been retired for the season and will fly in formation again in September - unless of course they are needed for another Royal Flypast !
Midweek Training 11th May onward: Midweek training will continue to be held on Wednesday's at Horam Rec. 18:30 hrs to 20:00hrs (or until dusk, whichever is the sooner). Please wear new training gear and jackets at all future training sessions. We will be taking another group photograph on Wednesday.
Training - Saturday 14th May: CANCELLED. However, Tim's Goal Keeper Academy meets for the last time this season (08:50 to 10:30hrs). A big thanks to Tim, Terry, Becky & Clive for nurturing and pushing our keepers skills all season long. A truly valuable asset to the Club. Lets hope you get the volunteers you need to keep it going next year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
TOURNAMENT details: Crowborough, Sunday 15th May, morning. £4/player please. Carpark and programmes extra on the day.
Team Red and team Blue - two teams. Please arrive at the ground by 08:30hrs for Registration.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
General notes: Please all have: Full NEW Broad Oak kit, football boots, shin pads and fluids (e.g. water bottle). PLEASE PLEASE Do Not forget shin pads and water !!
Tournament tips for those that have not been before: They will occupy a full half day of mini-soccer football format. Short duration matches (15mins max) sometimes with no halftime. Local rules may apply e.g. goals kicks from touchline, no scoring from kick-off etc. Consider bringing, foldable chairs, pinic blanket, refreshments, sunblock, unbrella, camera (local rules may apply), coins for playing fee. They are big venues with lots and lots of pitches - upon arrival buy a programme and suss out which pitch Broad Oak U9's are based. Upon conclusion of round-robin stage, do not leave venue straightaway as medal ceremony's are often delayed and await conclusion of any final.
Play fair, shake hands and applaud all play - including opponents. Have fun and enjoy your football. Regards

Hi All.
Match details Sat 7th May: Typhoons will be playing their last League, previously postoned game, at home v's Wadhurst United this Saturday (7th May) at Horam. Spitfires and Tornadoes will share playing Wadhurst's 'waiting' team. We have rotated a couple of players between the squads and . . . . . . Christopher . . . you're in! Please familiarise yourself with the teamsheet for a heads up on who's playing where - see teamsheet.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Typhoons at home v's Wadurst Utd. Please arrive at the ground by 10:00 hrs for warm-up.
Team Selection: Team news attached click here > > >
Kick Off: 1st Game – 10.30am, 2nd Game – 11.15am ish. 7-a-side.
Venue: Horam Rec.
Spitfires & Tornadoes at home, one game each against waiting Wadhurst side (see teamsheet above). The team not playing will training.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Managers note: Can we please be mindful of how we celebrate a goal - particularly Tornadoes! We understand that it's exciting and from a Tornadoes point of view a great moment as goals have not been easily got since Christmas but please celebrate in a measured and considerate manner. We must be mindful of how our opponents see our sportsmanship and how any of their players may react or get disheartened in a game (particularly goalkeepers and goalkeeping errors) by witnessing the touchline noise and over-celebration. Wednesday was a one off and we all played very well but consider how we would like it if we had to cope with similiar?
General notes: Please all have: Full NEW Broad Oak kit, football boots, shin pads and fluids (e.g. water bottle). PLEASE PLEASE Do Not forget shin pads and water !!
Midweek Training 11th May onward: Midweek training will continue to be held on Wednesday's at Horam Rec. 18:30 hrs to 20:00hrs (or until dusk, whichever is the sooner). It's gonna be hot and sunny this weekend so please consider use of sun block and DONT forget those water bottles. Fanks. Play fair and shake hands but above all, enjoy your football. Regards
